What is a high-performance NVMe VPS good for?

For work that reads and writes small files often and services handling many requests at once, disk speed sets the overall response time. Here are four uses where a high-performance NVMe VPS really shines.

What is the difference between NVMe and SSD VPS?

Both have the same 40 cities, the same operating systems and the same payment method. High-performance NVMe is a step up in disk connection and CPU generation, so the more a service uses the disk, the bigger the difference feels.

High-performance NVMe VPS

For services that need fast disks and the latest CPUs

Best for

  • Databases and search engines
  • Online stores and API servers with order spikes
  • Disk-heavy work such as builds and data processing
  • Services where response speed directly shapes the user experience

Standard SSD cloud VPS

The basic VPS, starting at the lowest price

Best for

  • Blogs and company sites with steady traffic
  • Personal VPN and proxy
  • Development and test servers
  • Spreading work across several small servers

Is NVMe faster than SSD on a VPS?

Yes, under the same conditions, NVMe disks are faster than regular SATA SSDs. NVMe connects the disk directly through a PCIe path close to the CPU and handles far more command queues at once, so waiting time is short when reading and writing many small files at the same time. The busier the server, the more this difference shows in the speed users feel.

When opening a single website page, the server reads config files, sessions, database rows and cache files dozens of times in an instant. Less disk waiting lets the CPU spend more time computing and handle more requests with the same specs. That is why for databases and online stores, just switching to NVMe often makes a bigger difference than adding memory.

On the other hand, company sites showing a few static files or personal VPNs barely use the disk and are fast enough on standard SSD. First consider how often your service uses the disk; once data is piling up and requests are growing, choosing a high-performance NVMe VPS is the most efficient choice.

How do I choose high-performance NVMe VPS specs?

If you are just launching a service, even a 6 vCPU, 12GB memory server can run a web server and a small database together. If you keep the database separate or traffic grows, a 6 vCPU, 16GB server is a stable baseline, and to bring several services onto one server, choose 8 vCPU and 32GB.

Memory is needed in proportion to your database cache and number of programs, and vCPUs in proportion to the requests you handle at once. Watch usage in the control panel for a few days; if memory is always short, move to a bigger size, and if the CPU stays high, move to a dedicated CPU VPS, the order that saves the most. The largest server, with 12 vCPU and 24GB, comes with 500GB NVMe and 8TB transfer per month.

If disk space runs short, attach an extra disk from 50GB to 1,000GB at creation, and for services with important data, turn on automatic backups too for peace of mind. Both options are added to the monthly price and renew with the server on the same day, so there is no separate billing date to track. Automatic backups cost 5.6% of the server price, and extra disks $0.028 per GB per month.

High-performance NVMe VPS FAQ

Answers on NVMe VPS pricing, performance, payment and choosing specs

How much does a high-performance NVMe VPS cost per month?

A server with 6 vCPU, 12GB memory, 260GB NVMe and 6TB transfer per month is $29.00 per month. 6 vCPU 16GB is $38.00, 6 vCPU 24GB is $58.00, 8 vCPU 32GB is $77.00, 12 vCPU 48GB is $115.00, and the largest, 32 vCPU and 64GB, is $154.00 per month. Options are added only if you choose them.

Why is an NVMe VPS faster than an SSD VPS?

Because NVMe disks connect through a PCIe path close to the CPU and handle many commands at once. Databases, online stores and API servers that read and write many small files at once spend less time waiting, and HELPER VPS high-performance plans also use latest-generation CPUs, so computation finishes fast too.

When should I choose high-performance NVMe instead of standard SSD?

For services where data keeps piling up and requests keep growing, high-performance NVMe is the right fit. Typical examples are websites running a database alongside, online stores with order spikes and servers doing lots of builds and data processing. Company sites with steady traffic or personal VPNs are fine on standard SSD, saving you more.

How do I pay for an NVMe VPS?

Pay invoices with 12 cryptocurrencies. Pay the first term when you create the server, and renew manually from the console. Refunds are credited to your account. Sign-up takes just a single account token.

What happens to my server if I don't renew it?

If you don't renew by the due date, the server is suspended, and you can start it again by renewing within 3 days. If there is still no renewal after 3 days, the server and its data are deleted, so renew before the due date to keep your service running. Check your next renewal date and price anytime in the control panel.

How long does it take to create an NVMe VPS?

Creation starts as soon as you click Create, and the server is usually running within a few minutes. When it is ready, the control panel shows the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and the root password; for security the password can be viewed again for only 7 days, so we recommend changing it on first login. Add an SSH key in advance and you connect right away without a password.

Which operating systems can I install on an NVMe VPS?

Choose from Ubuntu 26.04, 24.04 and 22.04 LTS, Debian 13 and 12, AlmaLinux 10 and 9, Rocky Linux 10 and 9, CentOS Stream 10 and 9, and FreeBSD 14. The Docker, WordPress, LEMP and Node.js one-click apps come installed on Ubuntu 24.04, so you can deploy your service right away.

What if I need more disk space?

When you create a server, choose an extra disk of 50GB, 100GB, 250GB, 500GB or 1,000GB and it is attached at $0.028 per GB a month. The extra disk fee is added to the server fee and renews on the same day. If you want more space on a server you already use, ask on the support page after your first payment and we will explain how.

How many NVMe VPS can I create in one account?

You can create up to 10 servers per account. You can mix high-performance NVMe, standard SSD and dedicated CPU, so a setup with web servers on standard and databases on high-performance NVMe is managed from a single account. You can also choose the region separately for each server from 40 locations.

Do I get root access on an NVMe VPS?

Yes, every high-performance NVMe VPS gives you root administrator access. You decide on software, firewall rules, kernel settings and services yourself. Port 25 for sending mail is closed to prevent spam; send notification emails through port 587 or 465 of an external mail sending service.
