  • Installed with Nginx, MySQL and PHP

The HELPER VPS WordPress VPS is a Linux cloud server where WordPress is installed with Nginx, MySQL and PHP on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS when you choose WordPress from the image list at creation, billed every 1, 3, 6 or 12 months from $25.00 per month. Open the server address in your browser, set your site name and admin account, and start writing right away.

    What is WordPress?

WordPress is an open source content management system (CMS) you can use to build anything from blogs and company websites to online stores. Under the GPL license (version 2 or later), anyone can use and modify it for free; it is written in PHP and stores posts and settings in a MySQL database. As the most widely used CMS on the web, it has a huge number of themes, plugins and guides. The admin area is available in many languages, including Korean, so it is easy to build sites for readers around the world.

Unlike hosted services such as WordPress.com, a WordPress you install yourself lets you add plugins and themes without limits and even tune the server settings. A WordPress VPS has this self-installed setup ready on a server in advance, so you save the time of installing a web server and database one by one and start designing your site right away.

What can I do with a WordPress VPS?

Self-hosting WordPress lets you decide exactly how your site looks and works.

How do I start with a WordPress VPS?

Create the server and finish the setup in your browser. That is all.

    1. Step 1. Create server

Choose a region and size and select WordPress from the image list. Nginx, MySQL, PHP and WordPress are installed on Ubuntu 24.04.

    2. Step 2. Open the server address

When the server is running, open its public IP address in your browser. The WordPress setup screen appears.

    3. Step 3. Set up your site

Set your site name, admin username and password, and log in. Point your domain and add an HTTPS certificate, and you are ready to go live.

Why self-host WordPress on your own VPS?

You get more resources and control than shared hosting, and the price is set by a single server plan.

What makes up a WordPress VPS

The software that runs alongside WordPress on the server, and tools that work well with it.

Place your server close to your users

Create WordPress servers at the same price anywhere in 40 cities across 31 countries.

    Which plan suits WordPress hosting?

The number of plugins and the size of the database matter more than visitor numbers.

A personal blog focused on posts can start on g12 with 12 GB memory. Using several plugins together, such as a page builder, SEO and security plugins, makes PHP and MySQL use more memory, so g16 or n16 with 16 GB is more comfortable. For a WooCommerce store or several sites, n24 with 24 GB leaves headroom and keeps the admin area snappy.

High-performance plans use NVMe disks, which makes a big difference for stores and membership sites with many database queries. For image-heavy sites, attach an extra disk at creation for plenty of upload space; a cache plugin together with a Redis object cache lets the same plan handle more visitors. When traffic grows, create a new server on a bigger plan and move your site over.

How do I add a domain and HTTPS to a WordPress VPS?

Point the domain, get a certificate, then change the WordPress address, in that order.

In your domain's DNS settings, set the A record to the server's IPv4 address and the AAAA record to its IPv6 address. Once the change has spread, install Certbot on the server with sudo apt install certbot python3-certbot-nginx, then run sudo certbot --nginx -d yourdomain to get a free Let's Encrypt certificate and attach it to Nginx. Certbot renews the certificate automatically.

Then, in the WordPress admin under Settings, General, change the WordPress Address and Site Address to your domain starting with https. For sign-up and order notification emails, connect a mail sending service that uses port 587 through an SMTP plugin so they land reliably in recipients' inboxes.

    WordPress hosting FAQ

Common questions when choosing and installing a WordPress VPS.

What is installed on a WordPress VPS?

WordPress is installed on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS together with the Nginx web server, MySQL database and PHP. Open the server address in your browser, finish the setup screen and your site is ready to use.

How much does WordPress hosting cost?

The WordPress app has no extra charge; you pay only the price of the server plan you choose. The smallest plan starts at $25.00 per month, with the same price in every region.

How do I buy a WordPress server?

Choose a region and size, select WordPress as the image, and pay to create the server. You can choose a billing period of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, with 10% off for 3 months, 15% off for 6 months and 25% off for 12 months.

Can I install any plugins and themes?

Yes. It is a self-installed WordPress, so you can add plugins and themes from the official directory as well as premium themes you bought elsewhere. With root access you can change PHP settings too.

How do I raise the upload size limit?

Increase upload_max_filesize and post_max_size in the PHP settings together with client_max_body_size in Nginx. Reload PHP-FPM and Nginx afterwards to apply the change.

How do I send email from WordPress?

Connect a mail sending service that uses port 587 through an SMTP plugin. Outgoing port 25 is closed on every server, and with a sending service your notification emails arrive reliably.

Can I move an existing WordPress site?

Yes. Export your site with a migration plugin and import it on the new server, or move the files and database yourself. Then point your domain's A record to the new server IP and you are done.

    Who handles WordPress updates?

You update WordPress core, plugins and themes yourself from the admin area. Keep up with operating system security updates using sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade.

    Can I run several sites?

Yes. Add a site config to Nginx for each site and create a separate database for each, and you can run several WordPress sites on one server. You can also turn on the WordPress Multisite feature.

    How do backups work?

Choosing the automatic backup option at creation adds 5.6% of the plan price to the fee and backs up the whole server regularly. Rollbacks are requested on the support page once your first payment is confirmed, and keeping a separate copy of the site with a backup plugin gives extra peace of mind.

What if I want to reinstall from scratch?

Choose the WordPress image again under OS reinstall on the server page for a clean, fresh install. The disk is wiped, so export any posts and files you need first.

WordPress, Nginx, MySQL and PHP are open source software owned by their projects; HELPER VPS only installs them when the server is created. Updates after installation, plugin and theme management, and questions about using your site are yours to manage. The server price is the price of the plan you choose, and the WordPress app itself has no extra charge.
